What varieties/breeds of dogs or cats would be the best solution for a person with allergies and asthma?

Categories: Asthma Q&A

I am at present searching to see if there are any choices out there for an allergy and asthma sufferer to own a pet comparatively symptom-free. What breeds/sorts of cats or dogs are the greatest selection/least problematic?

Now that my boyfriend (the one with allergies/asthma) and I are finished with college, we are hoping to locate a breed of cat or dog that we can have that won’t cause issues for him. Any suggestions?

Thank you all!

Yorkies and Poodles do not shed, maybe that would help some..

dogs- poodles, i believe that the curly hair they possess is supposed to support prevent of minimize allergies because when they shed the tight curls they have a higher opportunity of causing allergies.
cat- siberian, they of all cats have a decreased quantity of a protein that causes reactions, not hair. so hairless breeds will not be that significantly far better than one with hair unless it has decreased protein like the siberian, but i dont believe so. i have heard that half wild, half domestic can be great with allergy sufferers, but i feel thats possibility

im much more of a cat individual as you can see

I saw on Cats 101 that Siberian cats are hypoallergenic. Not positive exactly where you locate those although. Also, shih tzus don’t shed.
