I breathe normally, just like any person wholesome. But, I have the characteristics of asthma when I am exposed to extreme cold, and I wheeze, and discover it somewhat hard to breathe. I’m also curious, due to the fact if I have a mild level of asthma, if I can have a furry pet, such as a dog? Just an additional tidbit, thanks in advance to whoever answers!

Answer by Tarkarri
Being triggered by the cold does not define the seriousness of your asthma.

How negative the attack is defines how severe it is.

Diverse individuals have different triggers, cold, workout, pet hair, polen, dust mites, etc are all common triggers.

An individual who is triggered by the cold could be triggered by pet hair, but someone else triggered by cold might not.

You want to have your asthma assessed by a Dr and get an asthma plan so you know how to manage and treat any attacks.

Even mild asthmatics can have deadly asthma attacks.

Answer by cobaltspero
perfume doesn’t lead to asthma but it does aggravate it and can result in an asthma attack particularly if its genuinely sturdy. smoking, weight obtain, and genetics lead to asthma.

Answer by David
a lot of perfumes contain synthetic scents. numerous people are allergic to these low-cost scents. if you,re employing a lot of perfume, you are producing oneself and other people sick. use only scents created with important oils. these are better tolerated. use the least quantity of scent essential. a touch of scent is far better than a cup complete. my sister has this sort of allergy. she,s had to fight to get human resources to recognize this difficulty. the men and women who are annoyed, and “forget” about her allergy are reprimanded about it. some folks appear to feel it a personal insult.

How do you treat an asthma attack without having an inhaler?

My boyfriend has poor asthma and we had a scary experience lately exactly where I had to call an ambulance due to the fact he did not have his inhaler. I didn’t know what to do and it was truly scary :(

For future reference, is there any strategies that help if you do not have an inhaler?

Answer by Nurse Practitioner 32 years
Other than relaxing, sitting up with hands on knees to open up the chest, and breathing out by means of pursed lips, an inhaler is the only answer. You may want to have an extra a single on hand in case he forgets his in the future. Hope this helps.

Answer by kaykay
It is very crucial for him to carry his inhaler with him ALL of the time, preserve one in the vehicle, two or three at home in distinct rooms, 1 in your purse, etc. Asthma can be quite unsafe and also fatal, numerous folks die every year from asthma!

Answer by icelollysugarpop
my cousin had an athsma attack and she had to breathe into a bag, then i got athsma :( but its gone now :D

Answer by lance
1st you remain away from your triggers. Second you should have your inhaler at all occasions. If you do not have an inhaler, you can try purse lip breathing, you can lay on the floor and place one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach. The primary thing you really should attempt is to breath out far more than you breath in, with asthma you are air trapping. You are unable to breath out all of your co2.

Will over the counter medicine perform for my asthma?

I have extremely mild asthma that commonly does not have an effect on my every day life. But, whenever I clean weeds/yard (as in yesterday), it activates my asthma. I barely slept last night. Will Primatene Mist perform for this or yet another OTC drug? Yes, I did wear a mask! I can’t afford the ER visit with no insurance atm.

Answer by Poor Dad
There are over the counter medications for this condition. Bronitin tablets, Primatene tablets, Primatene mist or inhalation. These drugs can raise blood pressure and are stimulants so you should not use them if you have high blood pressure with no doctor approval. If the condition is chronic it is worthwhile to get prescribed medication that is less complicated on blood pressure and your heart and can be utilised only as you want it.

where is the worst state to live if you have allergies and asthma?

We are thinking of moving to New Hampshire. We are worried about our son’s asthma and allergens that NH may have that would trigger his allergies. I would appreciate any answers a person could supply me with, thanks.

Answer by veggiegirl777
Asthma can be cured in some cases, and managed in other cases, with herbs. I extremely recommend going to an skilled or master herbalist in your region. My grandmother stated to eat LOCALLY created honey, unpasteurized, she has and no far more sinus infections. Attempt with and with no warm water. Honey ought to be lukewarm, or very warm, but not boiling. Try an ounce of dried lobelia inflata (health food shop) steeped in extremely hot water (not boiling) for 25 minutes, steep and drink a small at a time. Lobelia may cure asthma in some individuals (depending on what the orginal cause was). Also honey and a little cinnamon together work miracles, with warm water.

Is it unusual for an asthma dx to be produced without having spirometry?

I have been treated with drugs for asthma for a year now. I have all the symptoms and get regular attacks which require use of a nebulizer in the doctor’s workplace, but the doctor has never carried out a spirometry. Is this unusual?

Answer by abossi
Spirometry measure the efficacy of the therapy and your response to bronchodilator drugs and measure the severity of the illness .yes clinical exam and history taken from the patient is enough to dx asthma

Answer by xxx_foxtroot
No it is not my son has had it for five years now and my husban for 15 years and they have by no means had a spirometry done.

Answer by Alethia MD
The spirometry is not mandatory.
Asthma is a disease that can be diagnosed basing on the signs and symptoms, clinical history and response to treatment.
The spirometry is usually asked when there is doubt about the diagnosis, or therapy is not working.
Nevertheless, asthma is a very equivalent illness to COPD (the factor smokers get), so it would be advisable to get a spirometry carried out each and every year, just to be certain asthma is not permanently damaging your lungs, but this is up to your medical doctor. Speak to him about it, he might give you a better answer for why he hasn’t ordered it.
excellent luck!

Try Zyrtec – I am allergic is anything that blooms, most animals with fur, dust, dust mites….the list goes on and on! My asthma, which has been dormant for 15 years, popped back up a few months ago due to allergies. Do not use Zyrtec-D – I have not had positive experiences with that.

Also, try employing Singulair. It is for each allergies and asthma and you take it at night. Try NeilMed’s Sinus Rinse. It’s more than-the-counter and is at any drugstore. It feel weird to do, but it flushes out your sinuses which signifies it flushes out the allergens. Also, for the asthma, you may think about some thing like Broncaid or and inhaler as a brief term solution.

Also, examine your surroundings. Have you moved? Have you aquired a new pet or have you been around a new pet? When was the last time the filter on your HVAC method was changed? Use a precise allergen-filter to help.

Excellent luck – I know exactly how you feel!
