I have asthma and the heat and dry air is causing it to flare up a small. And my chest is hurting a small in the middle. Not majorly or sharp pains. And I am coughing.

yeah thats like a minor asthma attack thats what i have.. specifically when its hot.. my chest gets a lil tight just take your inhaler and relax and breathe slowly attempt not to move about so a lot in the heat

At home, possibly a humidifier? Take a bath? Have some hot tea?
